the ryan & erin seal the non-nuptial agreement
for erin no. 25 yours to open, or not

A quiet place
for the two of us.

Not an app to keep up with. Not a thing you have to start today, or ever. Just a small, private country with room in it — somewhere the harder things can be set down gently, whenever more of that is yours to give.

no pressure · no pace · nothing here is ever kept score of

Be it known: this instrument is entered into by Erin Greer, a single woman, and Ryan Day, a single man — each of sound mind and uncertain heart — of their own free will, binding neither.

iwhat it is

Think of it less as software and more as a place — a cottage at the edge of a green country that belongs only to the two of us. There is a document inside it, written in the old dress of an agreement, but nothing in it is binding and nothing in it is a test. It simply holds what we each feel, in our own words, and softens over time as we do.

It asks nothing of you. There is no streak to keep, no reply it is waiting on, no meter filling or emptying. You can open it once and wander, or leave it shut for a season and it will be exactly where you left it. The whole point is that it is easy — somewhere to be, not something to do.

it is a refuge

A sheltered, softly-bounded room with calm open space around it. Somewhere that feels safe enough to say a true thing, and quiet enough that a true thing can be heard.

it never grades you

Nothing here ranks one of us against the other or measures who loved better. That is not a feature we forgot — it is the one rule the whole thing is built around.

it is yours to shape

Two hands, equal in every way. Neither of us goes first, neither of us is the guest. What the place becomes, it becomes slowly, and only if we ever want it to.

iithe world

A green country,
and we can find each other in it.

The world starts as a single room and grows only as we wander further into it — rooms to leave something in for the other to find, quiet corners, a bit of weather. The part that matters most: we can both be here at once. See that you are near, sit in the same room, talk in it. A place you only ever visit alone is just a diary; this one has two chairs.

a place, not a feed

iiithe gate

Nothing moves
unless we both turn the key.

Where we stand is never something one of us can change alone. It only ever shifts when we both reach for it at the same time. And if only one key turns, that is written down as not yet — never as a no, never shown to the other as a refusal. Not yet is a perfectly good place to live, for as long as you like. Nothing here will ever hurry you past it.

ivthe scrapbook

Anything you like.

A loose, open book with no prompts to answer and no shape to fill. Leave a photograph, a good afternoon, a sentence that was hard to say aloud — or nothing at all. Every page opens with the same small permission: as you wish. What is private stays yours until you decide otherwise.

vthe check-ins

The conversation
we keep almost having.

A gentle place for the things that are easier written than spoken. When there is a question worth sitting with, we each answer it in our own time and in private — and the answers only open to each other once both of us have written. No one has to go first, and no one ever goes alone. And it is always, always okay to leave it for another day.

sealed until we both answer

“What would have made this week gentler, that neither of us said out loud?”

vifurther in

And, one day,
a way to spoil each other.

Deeper in the world there will be a place to give — part keepsake-shop, part the small delightful things you'd want from a world you love, part real, arriving-at-your-door tenderness. You will each keep a quiet wishlist; some of it private. And a private wish, now and then, has a way of drifting out into the world where the other person might just happen upon it.

coming, in time

Most of this is still a promise.

Almost none of it is built yet, and that is alright — it is a country we would only ever wander into slowly, if at all. For now it is just a door, a quiet room, and me telling you what I hope it might become. No pressure. Just this, held out to you.
